In 2012, after various experiences as a guitarist with local bands, he moved to Milan. In the sprawling city, he decided to pursue a solo career, performing his own songs in Italian.
In 2015, he released his first two EPs, Vetulonia Dakar and Altalena Boy (produced by Federico Dragogna and released by Picicca Dischi). In 2017, he followed up with his first full-length album, Bestiario Musicale, a concept album about the animals of his homeland, the Maremma area (Picicca Dischi). That same year, Lucio Corsi opened for the theatrical tours of both Baustelle and Brunori SAS, and played numerous festivals across Italy.
In 2020, he released his second studio album, Cosa faremo da grandi?, under Sugar Music. Co-produced with Francesco Bianconi and Antonio Cupertino, the album was accompanied by visionary visuals directed by Tommaso Ottomano. The record received critical and public acclaim, leading to a guest performance at the 2021 Tenco Prize at the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo.
In 2023, once again in collaboration with Ottomano, he released his third album, La Gente Che Sogna (Sugar Music). The album draws inspiration from his deep passion for 1970s glam rock, while the lyrics explore themes such as darkness, sleep, dreams, reality, and imagination.
In May 2023, he embarked on an extensive concert tour—including an opening slot for The Who at Firenze Rocks—that concluded in autumn 2024. He returned on November 12, 2024, with the single Tu sei il mattino (Sugar Music), featuring a special appearance by actor Carlo Verdone in the music video. The song also plays a key role in the third season of Verdone’s TV series Vita da Carlo, streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
In November 2024, he made a comeback with the single track “Tu sei il mattino” (“You are the morning”), featuring a special appearance by legendary Italian actor Carlo Verdone in the music video. The song also plays a key role in the third season of Verdone's TV series Vita da Carlo on Paramount+, where Lucio appears as himself.
In February 2025, Lucio made his debut at the Sanremo Music Festival, Italy's most prestigious music competition with the song “Volevo essere un duro” (“I wanted to be a tough guy”), now certified platinum record. Originally the least known artist in the lineup, after the first performance, he quickly captured the audience's attention, consistently placing in the top 5 each night. He ultimately won the public's heart by performing the classic Italian song "Nel blu, dipinto di blu" (by Domenico Modugno) alongside the iconic fictional character Topo Gigio. Lucio eventually placed second overall in the competition, winning the prestigious Mia Martini Critics’ Award for his song.
His new album “Volevo essere un duro” (certified golden record) was released on March 21st, 2025 for Sugar Music. In April he embarked on his sold-out Club Tour 2025 in the main Italian clubs, followed by his summer tour of 28 shows, including two special appointments in Rome and Milan in hippodromes.
With his song "Volevo essere un duro" ("I wanted to be a tough guy") Lucio Corsi represented Italy at Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which took place in Basel, Switzerland, between 13th and 17th May, marking a new significant career milestone.
